Hi all. I purchased quickbooks pro last night. Spent a few hours setting it up. Not done yet. My question is this> I set up the merchants account today so that I can accept credit cards. Do any of you use this method of accepting credit cards? If so, how do you like it? Thanks in advance....

I use Quick Books Pro and love it, but I also have on line banking. The two merge well.

Talk to your bank. Make them do the work for you re: deposits and recrod keeping. You will need to set up a Merchants account with your bank to accept CC payments, but that is also a cost.

My bank transactions are always easy! I make it that way so I can spend more time installing and making people happy with the new systems they bought.

Banking is a chore that needs daily review.

Call your Bank and they should be more than happy to help. Do you have a yearly CPA? If not, get one.

I've got a recommended set-up for chart of accounts, if you're interested. I ditto rec on yearly accountant. I am also a big believer in monthly financial statements (if you set things up and do your entries correctly you won't need an accountant for these). Wait til the end of the year to find out how you're doing, could be too late.
Installers know how to do installations. Business owners need to know how to get installations done -- and a whole lot more.
