I am installing a Russound ABUS system (A-HD4) for a client, and have ran into a question / problem. I am mounting the keypad on the inside of the house to drive an external amplifier for a pair of outdoor speakers. Is there a way I can tie an additional IR target that I mount outside into that zone.
I guess the IR target on the keypad will be unused, so I should be able to not connect the wires that run the IR signal and use them for the new target.
I plan to contact Russound, but I figured I'd seek out some late night assistance!
Thanks for any input.

Adding an extra IR receiver is not a problem. The location is! Keep it facing towards the house(to keep the sun from shinning directly into the receiver) preferably under an eave or some 'shady' spot. IR in direct sunlight can present some problems. Overload of the IR system is quite possible.
I've done this several times with the location requiring a little trial and error.

We did the exact same thing except with A-H4. We had to use a sensor from www.audioplex.com to make it work outside. Russound will be able to help with which punchdown pins you connect. Bob
