Hello, I have just tested my new home theater system and I am having problems running progressive scan from the DVD Player. When I run progressive mode, all I get is a green signal - the entire movie shows in green. When I switch the DVD player back to Interlaced mode, it goes back to nornal. Anyone have any idea what is causing this? I thought it was the DVD player but when I swapped it out for my other one, I had the same issues.
I am running a Panasonic PLC 720 projector, RGB to composite to a Sony 9000 SACD\DVD player. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Well, in order to get progressive scan, you need to use the component outputs of the DVD player. Are the RGB inputs on your projector capable of handling a component signal? RGB and component are 2 different signal types, but a lot of systems can switch the input to accept a different signal. Not sure if yours can or not though. But I can safely say the problem is with the composite output on the DVD player. You NEED to use the component outputs, check the manual, it should tell you specifically how to hook it up to whatever display you've got.

Thanks. I do have component video running from my DVD player. When I run a differnt DVD player using the same set up I get the same result. When I switch to interlaced mode, I get a good picture, just trying to figure out why the picture is screwed up when I run in Progressive mode.

Sounds like bad cable try replacing with new cable. I know the green component cable works because you have sync(Picture. Maybe blue or red has an issue. This also can be caused by reversing colors.

pinned it bad cable or connector .
Check them with a v/ohm meter .
