You can always do a RCA Rear Projection with Built in DTC-100 .
or go Panasonic or Hughes for that mater toshiba . There are workarounds for hd on and off descretes for those and more .
Just no discrete power (we leave them on 24/7 anyway)

I know your not thinking retail, but keep an eye on RS. If the RCA been discontinued, the price should drop well below wholesale. Every store I go in has at least one. They have the RCA UTV's at
$79, Just something to think about.

Be forewarned,

both Toshiba and Panasonic hd satellite tuners have been in "out of stock" supply for many, many months.

Samsung is bringing out a piece, but, until the product arrives, it's difficult to get a handle on it's characteristics.

My distributor just sent a note that the DTC-100 is discontinued and out of stock. They suggested using a Hughes E86 but I don't know anything about this product.
i wanna go home now

imho, Hd Sat is a waste.. you only get 2 channels (HBO and Showtime), you need an oval dish, you have to pluck local HD signals from the broadcast signal...

Here, the cable company is renting HD converters for $5 a month.
Of course, while they have been doing this for a YEAR now, they STILL don't know how to hook it up....

theres more and more DV movies being released, too...

I put the JVC DV player in a customer's house- it's the BOMB, but it's missing one lil thing- an internal timer to set up the thing to record days in advance!

Oh well.. maybe I'll borrow one and tape the PBS Digital feed... it's worth it just for demo purposes....

Got an email the other day about the DTC200. IIRC, it said something about a 4th Q release...
