Hello all,

I have done about a dozen 624 phone systems and programmed all of them via telephone. I know that there is software out there that will allow me to program via pc. How do I get this software and is it worth the trouble? I have a new client with an existing 624 and vm system and he needs help with some programming. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there is no programming software for the 624. You can howevever use hyperterminal to log a system dump of all programing information. The easiest thing to do is wipe the system clean and start from scratch.

Voids the tiny warranty though, at least thats what I've heard.

I would buy it if only it would allow naming the doorphones.... why is that so hard to do?

Best money I've ever spent. Had a KSU hit by lighting last week. Loaded the backup file in 5 minutes on a new KSU............

Dave,

It looks like this sytem (as pertains to the 624) only supports features activated or deactivated (changing of defaults, etc...)?

Am I right that this program does not allow for extension naming or station repgramming? I would not expect it to allow progamming each extension/naming whcih currently must be done with the phone at thae extension (as that would get fairly tedious) but it would be nice if it would allow the extension name programming.

The back up/archival is a real value.

The program name is programmator and yes will allow you to program the extension names. This program is made by a russian guy and some how there are a couple of letters, I don't remember which one now that are input wrong, so you gonna need to go to the particular extension and rename it there if you are missing that letter( I belive K is one of them). Other than that works pretty cool though. I've been using it for about two years now and saves you a lot of time. They also made a software to program the Voice mail system like the TVs50.

flcusat,

Your telling me that this software is bulletproof? Since many of my systems have the CO line properties getting scrambled by too much line current/call waiting/call log info, the programmator software does have advantages. However, several flexible button commands such as "43" page return do not work, and you have to press "enter" on keyboard many many times to acknowledge each error when you download a program.

I may be missing something, please point this out, but an upload or a download to KSU takes up to 15 minutes on a fully configured 624. I can punch a program out on a 7335 in way less time with the worksheets filled out in front of me. My opinion is it is a WASTE of time and money. My 3 cents

I never said that it was bullet proof. I actually believe that there are certain things in the program that could be done in a better way. Any how, yes you can program the flexible buttons with commands like 43 or 551. Also you can do programming on the fly kind of batch(KXTD) and when you finish programming the whole system download it to the laptop to save it. I agree that the whole donwload process will take a few minutes but if you ever need to replace the 624 you just upload the configuratio in to the new one. Anyways is another tool you'll have to work that will save you a lots of time and I believe cost around $75. That is lot less that what you would charge for
programming one unit isn't it?

flcusat,

Sorry if I was a little cranky this morning, not enough coffee :( however it must be my systems that don't let me put a 43 in the F1-F12 locations in the software. If I do, I get the error messages and they don't work. I just have way too many 624's with software scrambling issue's, which Panasonic will not address or compensate our company for the massive hours of reprogramming that this software is supposed to help me solve.

I appreciate the info.

Gary

Gwilly: Sorry I didn't answer to you before but I'm out of town in a LiteTouch training in Salt Lake City. Are you programming your system manually? If that is the case you need to press 2 first to tell the system that you are programming a feature and then 43. If you are programming and extension you need to press 1 first and then the extension number. If you are using the programmator software you need to put *43 in the button.
djnorm: Yes the 624 are going away and the 848 is the replacement for that which is programmed by software which this is provided by Panasonic.

the 848 is indeed computer programmable.
it is not the supercede for the 624.
the 824 is the supercede for the 624. It will appear sometime over the next several months. A certain distributor recently offered the first training in the country on the 824. it too will program via computer, but have a different programming software then the 848.
both use 77 series phones; 848 uses cell repeater technology for cordless, 824 does not.

I have it on good authority that Panasonic is exploring using the On-Q model number system.
