Has anyone installed this RPTV? I'm wondering why the price has plummeted from 8999 at CEDIA in September to $4999 just a few weeks ago. The few reviews I've read have been luke warm. The device is first generation, which does raise a few red flags. But then again, it is InFocus, and their projection technology is quite solid.
Any thoughts??

I think their "modern" design has more to do with it than the performance...
It's thin, and it does have a nice picture, it's just too ugly.
If it was a Sony, it would sell well because it's a Sony and every major retailer would be forced to have it on display.
But Sony thinks DLP is an inferior technology and will be too much of a service liability in the long run with the mirror arrays and the color wheels.

I've just installed my 2nd one of these TVs in 2 months. I like it quite a bit, and I'm not complaining that the price dropped...makes them easier to sell.
The only issue I have is with 480i/p video. The colors seem to 'ramp' from blue to red and back again. Switch to 720p or 1080i out from the DSS or CATV box, and perfect picture.
Nice set, all in all.
