I need a simple remote like the WeeMote for Sr's, but something that has a keypad. The Simplicity comes close, but uses 4 batteries (6v). I need 2 battery (3v) so I can use the RF "Around the house extender".

This RF extender works great for converting simple IR remotes to RF for distance, and my application requires it. Cost is not a big factor. The tactile feel is, so Pronto style screen pads won't do. Sony makes a simple RM-EZ2 that's perfect, except it won't control a Motorola HD style cable box, or at least that's what the manual says.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, for those of you wanting to replace a broken Hughes style RF satellite box like the GAEBO, which they don't make anymore, or similar, the extender above allows you to use any of the regular simple sat boxes and remotes by just replacing the battery. Cool part is the IR blaster output on the receiver is also compatible with Xantech style blasters or emitters and associated repeater stuff!

Thanks
Dan

try the sony VL700, it takes two AA batteries. It's a fully learning remote.
