Has anyone had any luck controlling the Speakercraft MZC-66 with a PC or network?

It sounds like they have pulled there ethernet (ERS-1.0) connectivity out of the catalouge but wondering if anyone had any background.

If you can test commands via the EZ Pad S/W you should be able to send commands
via RS-232 with automation controllers. It just seems speakercraft needs to publish the protocal.

Any insight would be helpful.

Their tech support has been great every time I've called. I'm sure they can help you with this, they probably have the info ready to send out to you. I checked the download site, didn't see anything there concerning the protocols.
Why all the fighting and cussing? Can't Dave play nice? We're just here to learn and have fun. It was a harmless jab, laugh and get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW... S-E-A-R-C-H!!!
or do the work!!!

RS-232 is not currently supported for Control or Feedback of the MCZ66. It is "On the List" for future firmware releases.....

Impaqt,
Thanks for the insight.
You are talking RS-232 when you test commands via the EZ-PAD S/W. I don't understand what needs to be added. Is it more of an issue of support vs. publishing the protocal?

I havent played with it much, but I'm fairy sure
you can only test IR commands THrough the software.

=================
In the EZ-tools:
- Click MZC-66 CMDS Tab
- Right click on any command (Volume/Mute/Routing/Etc)
- Select Test Command
- This sends that particular command via RS-323 to the
control port on the MZC-66 and executes.

====================
Also an excerpt from the release notes for latest firmware:

#1 In an expanded MZC-66 system, a Party-Mode initiation from the
Control Port would cause instability.

SOLUTION:
In an expanded MZC-66 system, a Party-Mode initiation from the
Control Port no longer causes instability.

=========================
Finally, bullets from CorAccess supported devices:

Distributed & Audio: Manage multiple source and multiple zone control from anywhere in the home.

Speakercraft MZC-66 supporting multiple, stacked MZC units via direct serial (MZC units daisy chain)

==========================

I have asked speakercraft tech support and said you can't do it, but it doesn't make sence to me. I think this would complete the system for a very integrated install with some of the HTPC S/W out there like Meedio and
MCE2005.

Thanks for the time.
