Has anyone else out there had any problems with a TSU-7000 freezing?
My client picked up his new handheld from the charging cradle, which he left overnight, and all he saw was vertical light blue and white lines of different thicknesses. All the hard buttons were disfunctional and I had to reset the unit by poking the recessed button on the back. The unit did not lose programming.
Does anyone know if reseting the handheld is a common issue to deal with?
Does anyone care to leave a brief review about the TSU-7000 vs The Universal Remote MX-3000 and their acompanying RF interfaces.
Any insight will be highly appreciated.

I've had them lock up before, but not after just sitting in the charging cradle, unless somebody did a lot of button pushing while it was on the cradle. I find that they mostly lock up for me during extensive macro strings and when the graphics get out there.
As for the 3000, I've had much better luck with them than I did the Prontos. The RF is worlds better, and I like the software better. But I think I'm one of the few when it comes to liking the software more. As for locking up, not since the first run have I been able to get a 3000 to lock up easily. Like the Pronto, it will lock up on extensive macro strings, heavy graphics or an impatient customer who has to hit the macro button 30 times. (Easily fixed by adding a page jump)

Had lock ups like that... Usally right after a surge or a brown out. Reset takes care of it.. but then the time is messed up... that is why I set my PCFs to not include the time on the screen. Well one of the reasons...

I have had this happen when the batteries are run flat. Reset fixes the problem.

Try upgrading the firmware in the unit itself. It's available on this site or on philips'. I think the last one came out in December of last year. Depending on how old your current PPENG is, you may have upgrade your programming software to acomodate for the new firmware too.

Talked to one of the Phillips programmers and he said that the lock-up is attributed to Background or button graphics that 'fall' off the edge of the screen. For example your background is over 240x320. We had the same problems with our company layout and lock-ups were a common problem. However, since we updated and worked around this graphic hang-up we have had zero problems with tsu-7000's locking up.
