A super cheap way is to use Shower curtains. You can find colored curtains which are completely opaque. Our show-room has two sets of curtains on a single rod. We mixed a colored decorating drape, to match the interior design, with a colored shower curtain behind it. This prevents about 90% of the light coming in. With direct sunlight coming in the window, this setup works great with our projection systems.
