Hi all,
What box do you use to pass electrical inspection when you need a high voltage switch (ie Grafik Eye or Crestron Light switch) that has a low voltage connection as well? I've got an inspector all over me right now because I've got cresnet wires looped above the electrical outlets in in my condo, and I need to solve this quickly so they can drywall.
best,
Easton

Why do you have Cresnet looped above your Elecrical outlets? Dimmer Locations I assume you mean?
Lutron Muxlink is rated for 600V..... I would assume Crestron has an approved cable that is intended to be used..... Standard Cresnet is not rated for high voltage....
A quick review of the Crestron website looks like you should be using Cresnet-DM wire instead of standard Cresnet.

Easton, did you ask the inspector what he would deem appropriate?

Larrys got a good point as well..... Many inspectors have their own interpretation of the codes..... (In Chicagoland anyway)
I had to argue withone at lenghth once on a Graphic eye location that had a muxlink conection....

Somehow there is a tie between this thread and the current CEDIA thread.

Just finishe a pre-wire in Chicago, The inspector required that we use PVC between floor changes for all our LV wiring. They were to have couplers at each end so that it would not move up or down. What do you expect from a place that still requires all electrical wiring to be run thru conduit in a residential house.
