A colleague of mine is programming a Pronto for a media PC.

When he learns the down command the cursor goes down but when he presses it a second time it stays still, however if he presses up the cursor goes up, then he can press down again.

Has anyone encountered this as it appears to be some sort of 2 tier system and rather annoying.

What is the solution?

Thanks,

We have programmed the media PC remote IR codes into a HTM remote without issue. I suspect the solution will be in re-learning the down command, paying attention to the amount of time you depress the button, the angle that you hold the remote control during programming and the lighting in the room during programming. I hope some of this helps.

The MediaCenter Remote uses a toggle bit structure. You can disable this in Windows by editing a registry entry. Go here for all the info:

Smells like an RC5 toggle bit issue.
