I have a job coming up where the client wants about 3-4 cameras mounted on the outside/inside of the building.

They want to be able to record all of them to a computer, and monitor them from the screen, it would be great if it was a IP based system where any one in the building could pull up any cam over a IP, or when they are at home.

These cams need to record 24/7 and be able to caputure images in the dark i guess with IR or something of the sort.

I know about that one grey fox IP box, but are there others?

What Cam suggestions do you have

Let me know any suggestions would be great.

One note is that most infra red illuminators have a limited useful range of 35 feet or so. Most DVR recorders can record from multiple cameras and can be triggered by movement to save recording memory.

Pro Video, aka Speco Technologies, has such an animal. Check out www.specotech.com for information.

These things have plummeted in cost in recent years. Well worth looking into.

Provideo cameras are good quality cameras, variety of options available. Priced accordingly.

Dedicated Micros. Their DV-IP should do the trick. If not, the D4 will definately do the job and then some. These are some really well engineered dvrs.

For the life of me I cannot recall the brand/model of the rackmount DC power supply we used but it put out more +12 then I knew what to do with. Four Euro barriers for 24 individual outputs. Considering the number of cameras, audio pickups and IR illuminators, it was well worth the cost.
