Hello,
I am working on an old project with a custom installed Sony XBR RPTV. It's a KP53-XBR35 from about '94-95.
It still looks great for an analog era set, but it is in desperate need of a multi-point convergence.
The OE remote only has the worthless "plus".

Anyone have service remote code file for Pronto or RTI? I can take either.

Try power, display, 5, power

Also some early 90's Sonys have a recessed service switch on the back panel by the jack pack

Well, I appreciate the follow up post, but this didn't seem to work either.

If it helps, the remote is one of the first with the "wheel" at the bottom, not a mini-joystick like the early Sony DSS, but a wheel to scroll up/down and you can press down to select. This on also has the flip open top with like 20 more buttons under it.

You can probably tell by the quick tests and the late hours that I am AT this "job"...
It's my old house (aka, my parents' place) and I am in for Easter weekend. I built this mess when I was working retail and lived here.

There is perceptible convergence drift (by my eyes anyway) in the corners and the left side seems to have a very slight bow like the geometry is a little off. The lettering in the ticker along the bottom on CNN is 1/8"-1/4" off when you get within 4-5" of either side.

Anyway, they aren't really HT enthusiasts and I don't think they care one way or the other, but I don't feel right leaving this TV looking like this. The other day the old man was out cleaning the garage and the TV was blaring away... I told them that this is the equivelant of a car with 150,000 miles and to keep the hours in check by shutting it off when they aren't watching.
Along that car analogy, because of the custom cabinet, this is a case where they would need to remodel the garage when they replaced the car!!

I'm going to try to sleep.
After breakfast, I will pull the facade off the cabinet and see if I can get a hand getting the set on the floor to check the back panel.

Thanks again to the Sony guys who pitched in, and I am looking forward to see if anyone else has other ideas.

That old and does not respond to power, display, 5, volume up, power.

You might be back in the world of dials my friend. Sony analog sets had a set of dials for rgb adjustment years ago. Is it possible this in one of them?

I found the recessed microswitch like hifiguru suggested, and pressing this while the set is powered on brings up a service menu.

The display shows the word SERVICE in the top/left with the numbers 1000 0110 right below.
In the top/center is the parameter selection, and the top/right is the parameter adjustment.

Numbers 1 and 4 toggle up and down through the selections.
Numbers 3 and 6 adjust the parameter +1 or -1.
Number 0 replaces the selection and parameter with the word READ in red letters.
MUTING puts the word WRITE in the same position, also in red.

Some of these selections are Greek to me...

Here they are, followed by what I think they are:
REF
VSMO
DISP
SHAP
RGBP
SBRT
SCOL
SHUE
SPIX
BCUT (blue cut)
GCUT (green cut)
BAMP
GAMP
HPOS (horizontal position)
VFRE
HFRE
AFC
DSPP
NRLE
SCUT
VMSW
SHAD
PPVS
PPLL
PFCO
PLEV
PVPO
PHPO
TRE (treble)
BASS (bass)
RVOL (right speaker volume)
LVOL (left speaker volume)
VD (????)
SEP
PILO
SAPV
STEV
DEEM
FILO
MPX
TEST
DRGB
ABLM
BOFF (blue gun off)
GOFF (green gun off)
ROFF (red gun off)

Does anyone remember the procedure for accessing the advanced video adjustments?? I am specifically looking for multi-point convergence and geometry adjustments.
Based on what I see here, I am not counting on internal patterns...
I do have the ColorFacts patterns on my laptop, and it has an S Video output that I can put right into the front of the set.

crosshatch and reverse crosshatch should be perfect for what I want.

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks.

I found this with a Google search...

These guys seem to have the instructions for a few different eras, including mine.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in.
