Hi,
Wondering if any folks could help me.
I've recently brought a US based Xantech SPLCD39G on EBay, however I'm based in the UK. The pack is all new and has the housing case, COM adapter and a US power supply unit (SPLCDPS1 I think!). I'm sure the adapter can handle a UK voltage as it is marked 110v - 240v on the back.
But from what I've read in the manuals, there's no exact detail on which wire of the adapter should be wired to the 16V input or Ground on the LCD screen. The adpter has two cables without plug. One if obiviously the 16v and the other must be the GND, however I do not know which is which.
The only colour difference between them is that one is a bare black wire (with tiny writing on it) and the other has white dashes on it.
So could someone please tell me if the white dashed line wire represents 16V or Ground ?

ebecker,
I'm just speccing one of these at the moment, does the power supply have to be local to the panel or can I simply use a length of Crestron Crestnet cable alongside the CAT5E to carry the 16V power.
Otherwise it seems very odd to have a local power supply for something located in the wall.

I'd also like to know this....
Can CAT5e be used to extend the cable length of the power cable ?
(I'm unfamiliar with CAT5e cables, but can any of the 8 cables be used ?)

of the 8 cables be used ?) Maybe, but I would double up the pairs, if wiring is not already in place use 18/2 and you will be good to go for a loooooong way without any significant drop in voltage.

You can have the power supply at the head end and run a 16/2 to the panel...
along with the cat5 for communication....
