Has anyone out their installed a plasma television behind a two-way mirror, so that the Plasma is only visible when it is on. If so, what issues were encountered and how did it effect the pix quality

With the cost/performance ratio of plasma I wouldn't want anything between my eyes and the display. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that this mirror will be framed or otherwise affixed to the wall so as to (attempt to) hide the fact that a plasma is behind the mirrored surface?

If I were entertaining this I would be investigating a guillotine lift to pull the mirror up when the plasma was in use. (In "Utopia" it would pull the glass up only, and leave the frame in place around the plasma's screen.) I saw this used recently in an industry magazine where the projector was hidden by a guillotine'd mirror and the screen came out of the crown moulding on the other side of the room above the mantle. It was an extremely nice install.

This months AVI has an article about an install featuring a plasma monitor that is framed and covered with a piece of art when not in use. The frame remains when the plasma is turned on but the art rolls away, it was stated that this technology was pioneered for that particular aplication but it gave a company name for the people who are going to market this.

More importantly, where to put the hidden bedside switch and pan/tilt controls for the cameras?

I'm sorry, was that inappropriate?

A buddy of mine told me he installed one behind a two way mirror once at his last company. He didn't say which plasma he used, but he did say that he had to crank the brightness all the way up for it to look any good, and it had to be viewed in a dark room of course. If they wanna spend the $$ you could get that glass that dims into a mirror when an electrical current is run through it.
