Do any of you guys use the Linn Knekt multiroom
system?

One. There was a system with potential that went nowhere in a big hurry. Very, very static sensitive; I guess Scotland does not have low humidity winters like we do here in Chicago.

Me too!

In retrospect, I feel like I was a 'guinni pig' for the manufacturer's in the '80's!

Nah, you weren't a guinea pig. You were an important marketing tool for the manufacturer's to get product awareness and name brand recognition.

Without you, Best Buy wouldn't be able to sell half of their lines because nobody ever would have heard of them.

Sad but true.

At least I'm a 'marketing tool' that survived!!!!

Now, when are the 'royalty checks' going to start coming in?!

I'll probably never get over the fact that I helped they're 'tech line' boys more than they helped me!

As I recall, the original in-walls were the 5-1/4" 2-way model 300i with an accessory flush-mounting kit, TRK300 or something like that. Became the 300is later when the woofer cones went to poly rather than paper, and then they added the larger 6.5" model 400is which eventually became the 400iw. I had several pair of those installed for multi-room use with the DST system in my house, although one pair got converted to rear surrounds a few years ago when I set up a home theater room. Even though the in-walls were produced circa 1990 product and use 6.5" drivers vs. the multiple 5-1/4" systems we sell now, they voice very much like the current HT-series products so it was easy to integrate them with the LCR systems in the front of the room.

Sorry, I will try that again.

I agree. The Linn is a great system but has never realy made it in residential jobs. I believe it is the multiroom choice in superyachts.
