Reading the original posts and follow ups, I can feel your pain. The first Net Command models I have had to install were a TOTAL PAIN, but one needs to learn, like anything else new, it's weaknesses and strengths.

First of all, Net Command is not for everyone. If the set is being installed in a larger system, better off asking the dealer to change to another model without the Net Command or with Home Theater 4 since discrete inputs codes (090 functions) will not work.

The first generation models with version 1.0 was very limited in both device library and interface functionality. New models with Net Command v2.0 is a much improved system, allowing more "user friendly" applications, such as turning off the reciever when internal speaker selected and more complete system integration.

Don't forget about the "flash card" capability of Net Command. The end user or retailer can update the library by inserting a new card when more devices are added. These can be obtained from Mitsubishi by calling their customer support line.

As mentioned, Net Command is not for everyone, but with the right customer and properly sold by the dealer, it works slick. I have many customers who love it, without the expense and difficulties of a customized remote.

I work with Mitsubishi TV's every day and so far, I've only found one TV that does not respond to Discrete commands in the last few years. That is/was the First Generation DPL (WD65000). There are absolutely no discrete codes for that set. THe Current DLP, as well as all the other net commands on my floor all respond to the 090 codeset.

So,
How do you get around the WD65000 not accepting discretes if you're trying to customize a system for someone?

Current Sensor for Power State.

Hitting CH+ or CH- does swith the TV to the ANT input on the 65000. SO you have to Send a CH+ and then the apropriet number of Input+ switches to get where you need to be.

Pain in the Butt, but do able.

I'm a sucker. I bought the Net Command system for a premium and was pretty ticked with Mitsubishi for advertising it the way they do. The fact is that with a little setup time it can work well, but on VERY FEW devices. Go to the Mitusbishi site and download a manual from any Net Command TV. There will be a grid or table near the back showing the compatible devices. It has so few devices listed, it's laughable. Sure, they say other devices may work, but but I didn't get lucky. For me, it isn't capable of controlling my amp or HD sat receiver.

The bottom line, if it doesn't control all of your components, what good is it? I still had to get a MX smart remote, and now the Mitsu remote sits in the closet w/ all of the others and the Net Command feature is deactivated.

Considering all the posts since I was told I was full of hooey, all I can say is I TOLD YOU SO.

Add to this the fact that the customer shopped us for hours, then bought the stuff from another dealer who bailed when they could not figure out how to program the Marantz 3200 that came with the A/V receiver (we had concluded that the 3200 was defective; the client called the original dealer, who called us a bunch of idiots and took the remote to their shop; the remote was returned to them unprogrammed a couple of days later and the client was told the dealer did not want to deal with them any more...). And of course the client wanted to negotiate the price after agreeing to it and having the work done.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie, Net Command sucks but the 090 codes work. I would see this as an oportunity to sell them a better remote but get paid up front. You could also just be grateful he didn't buy it from you in the first place.
Anyway, just kidding about the hooey

May be a dumb question, but does something need to be connected to the ANT input for this to work? I tried this out tonight at a clients house and it didn't work, but nothing is connected to the ANT input. When I hit CH+ all I got was a display showing my current input. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
