Is there an Itelligent remote n the market similar in status to the marantz rc5400 that can be programmed without having the original remotes? According to Marantz Tech support, without the original remotes, you cannot do it.

Hi Audiotek and welcome. What is the equipment your trying to control? Remote central has an extensive list of files, maybe what you seek is in here somewhere. Are you trying to program this without using a computer? List your gear and lets see how we cvan help. Thanks Ed

*Cough* Harmony *Cough*
Not everyone here likes the Harmony, but it has a great code base, and is quick and easy to program. No use if you're controlling via RF though.

Well, the RC5400 can be programmed w/out the original remotes - just download the CCF/PCF files you need from the files section. IF the codes are not there then yes, you do need the original remote.
