Hi guys,

Anyone ever done one of these combo's. Any gotcha's I should be aware of? The lifestyle remote is RF (I believe) will a pronto actually communicate with the Bose at all?

Regards

you need to switch it to IR and the codes are in the file section

gotcha's:
1) You will need to go into the menu and turn on the IR receiving and then Pronto will work
2) There is no discrete off...use an input command preferably an unused one and then power...watch the timing on this to make it reliable.
3) You can not access the Bose Link output (multi-room) via IR only using the Bose RC38 or soon to be PMCII. Maybe when PMCII is available we can coax IR codes out of it or Bose.
4) The infrared receiver is located in the center on the bottom flat vertical section and can not be seen without xray vision
5) There are both an infrared receiver and blaster located side by side so I have found it helpful to go into the menu and turn the IR output off to make input more reliable.
6) You can learn IR codes from the Lifestyles IR output by using the RF remote.
7) I don't want to catch anyone not drinking.
8) I appologize to all on this site for knowing this.

Sorry about the delay replying, have been away for a bit.

Fisher - I would not dream of suppling b**e. This is an existing install that I've been asked to upgrade.

Many thanks for the FB.

best upgrade = different amp and speakers, not a pronto
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

TJG

Woops, I just remembered from Bose sales training decades ago....walking across the room, back and forth with head bowed and a serious, studious look upon ones face

Lets see.

How about "I've ran a jackhammer all my life without hearing protection and I saw in a magazine that they were good" !!!
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!
