We tend to sell Denon receivers, but we've had a couple of Harmon/Kardon receivers recently. Both of them died, one would shut off intermittently, the other would stop passing video intermittently.

I just wondered if this was typical - as far as I was concerned they're a good name, are we just having bad luck?

We have used HK stuff for quite some time. I like the sound. If you are speaking of the "0" series, by that I mean the AVR330, AVR230, AVR430, AVR630, I also have experienced odd issues with them.

We have had only one issue with a AVR325, although we have many of them in our clients homes. However, about 60% of the AVR330's we put in experienced a problem. HK quickly went the the next series and we have no issues yet with the AVR335.

I agree with PennyG. Odd issues is right. I had 2- 630 that would not hold any settings such as video labeling, the setup mic. never worked and sound fields would just change on their own. I'll stick with Denon

The new HK stuff is junk, we dumped them because of reliability issues.
