I have thought long and hard on how to approach this, so here it goes!

I posted on another thread about changing careers and doing what I love doing. The time is now! At my current position I am being forced into doing things that are unethical and go against everything I stand for. This business practice is just wrong and I cannot continue this ethic and sleep at night.

I have been dealing with high-end clients for 23 years now on a daily basis, just in a different industry. I understand their wants and needs and know how to treat these fine people.

I spend a couple hours a day on this forum mostly in here absorbing and learning, (I know I sound like Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder, “You would be amazed what you can learn watching ESPN”). The majority of you seem to have the values and ethics that I live my life by. I have learned a lot in the short time that I have been hanging out here.

I would like to get into a high-end organization from the get go and spend my time more constructively proving myself to you rather than GG, BB or CC. I promise that I will be a great investment for your organization. My work ethic and dedication are second to none.

I will be taking a two week vacation from 03/19 to 04/03 and will be more than happy to sit down with you or the boss and discuss future employment opportunities. Do not hesitate to contact me sooner as I am ready for immediate action. I will however give the standard two weeks notice to present employer, because it’s the right thing to do.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, it means a lot to me.

Mike
P. S. E-mail me for phone number. I am in the North Orange County Ca. area.

WOW !!!

You get to take two weeks vacation 'in a row' ? And you want to leave?

Seriously, your dedication sounds good. But what kind of experience do you have?

I've heard ( from recent posts) that apprentice installers in the OC area have a poor starting wage.
You might want to take that into consideration.

Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

I love this occupation, and I'll probably do it untill I die, but, I don't recomend it to 'normal' people!

If total satisfaction in a job well done makes you feel great, then this is a good venture.

It's all about dedication;

to your clients, your boss, and your willingness to learn!
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

I think this, "I love this occupation, and I'll probably do it untill I die, but, I don't recomend it to 'normal' people! -- pilgram" is going to end up in my sig because it is soooo true.

BigWood -- how about elaborating on your experiences and how they pertain to this industry. Also, what industry are you currently in and what was/is the nature of your dealings with "high-end clients"?

Thank you for the responses and I would love to elaborate further but this is a public forum and I need to protect my current employment situation. Anybody who is serious can contact me via email and I will provide a phone number. If there is anybody in the industry that would not mind talking to me (maybe you are not in my area), I am all ears!

Let it be known that my past and present employment history will transfer well into this industry.

There is an old saying, "Do what you love and the rest will come." This is why I am here.
I am trying to present two excellent opportunities here, One for a prospective employer to gain an employee that take his job very serious, and Two, for myself to be part of a respected professional organization were my efforts would be appreciated. I treat everything I do like it was coming out of my own wallet, because ultimately it is.

One more thing, I have zero tolerance for liars and thieves in the workplace don’t have time for it, never did, never will.

Thanks again for responding to my post, this is a very important and serious point in my life and look forward to possibly working with one of you some day soon.

Mike

P.S. With my time off I will be installing a structured media center and pulling wire for cable, network and phone, as well as HT wiring in my home.
