I have a job that I am using a Onkyo TX-NR-1000 reciver, their new flagship model.

I have not heard much but my client has pretty much been sold on it. Just wondering if anyone had heard anything about it good or bad, or even used it?

Here is a link with pics and stuff just to see what it looks like (not that i would buy it here but they do have good pics)

Alan, is the NR1000 field upgradable? The crutchfield pictures show a modular design, but the description lists nothing about modules available or if these are ment to be user, technician, or factory options.
Thanks,
-Bill

Looks like it has all the modules installed. If he uses his local Integra dealer, it can be BTO (Built To Order) either thru the Integra website [Link: integrahometheater.com] or thru the dealer directly.

I ordered one recently and am just waiting to get it off back order. Only ordered the needed modules, and much less than 5 grand. That's what he gets for thinking the net is the best way to go. With toasters and gadgets, yeah, but high tech to the max? Buy it from a local dealer if you are smart.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

alan levens:: I will be sure to be in touch I haven't bought the unit yet.

Also I am not really familiar with the Integra line. It appears to be identical or very close to the Onkyo, whats the story there.

Thanks
DH

integra has always been the more 'advanced' and more 'expensive' products within the onkyo moniker. then, after us small dealers complained our heads off that they sold out to crapcity, they modeled the integra line after the onkyo line (except for the logo, 2 or 3 features for the custom installer, and a 3 yr vs 2 yr warranty) about 6 yrs ago. the price was and still is about 10-15% higher for the comparable integra models and unfortunately the only diff. (and i haven't compared them all) is the 1 yr extension on the guarantee. oh yeah, the power and volume knobs are silver against a black front panel instead of all black like the onkyo products! But it keeps the general public from shopping us against crapcity-eventho' we can beat their price and we can custom install the products. go to integrahometheater.com or call product support @ 8002251946 option 6 (and wait for 1 hour until they answer, ugh!) thx, alan 361 8577236

Though not a dealer myself, am I correct in saying - Think Toyota/Lexus or Nissan/Infiniti?

Cincy Remote: It has no DVI but it has 2 HDMI in and 1 out

About the HDMI does anyone know if it supports all HDMI formats?

Thanks for the info on Integra!

Ok, I think this is a stupid question - but I'll ask it anyway. I like the look of the modules, can you put more than one of any of the modules in there? It would be great to have the choice of adding 2 extra HDMI inputs for example.

FISHER:: I agree I wondered that too, because I mean what is the point of it being on cards other than not buying all of the I/O.

Yes, exactly. I mean I can see it could replace a whole range of equipment with just one unit, but it would make sense to me to have at least a couple of modules paired up.
