A REAL basic issue here. Some of you might remember that I left a message or two about the MX-350 a while back. Some of you said that I should try the MX-850 and program using the PC. I have since purchased one and without any real directions or coaching have found it to be pretty nice. One problem, however is that I need some files for equipment that isn't in the MX editor and I have looked in the files section. As I have downloaded some of these in the MX-700 section, I get .Mxd files and not .Mxf files so the editor can't use them. Is there a way to convert from one to the other or will I have to keep looking for something else?

First, there is a excellent programming manual that you can download to help you with the program. Just go to hometheatermaster.com. MXD files can be imported (or exported) by right-clicking on the device tree in MXEditor. You'll see the option to import or export a device.
Also, if you don't see the exact model number of a component in the IR database, it's likely that a similar model number will work. Additionally, you have the ability to use Philips Pronto files from this site with the Universal Browser.
If you have additional questions, check the "Home Theater Master" forum.

mxd files are individual device files
mxf files are complete system files that can contain macros and favorites

We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours. |

Fantastc!! I have now downloaded the programming guide (not read it yet) and have tried to right click to import the mxd files and they come across perfectly. That's exactly what I needed. Thanks for your help....
