Okay, what to do to control the 'rf only' dish networks 811 (i believe that's the model #) hdtv sat. receiver from an onkyo integra dtr6.5 programmable remote. I know it may b a 'no brainer' for u seasoned remoters, but i'm baffled. thanks, alan in cc,tx

Dish Network supplies a RF remote with the receiver, but it is still capable of accepting standard Dish Network IR codes. You can even teach to a learning remote from the sat receiver itself.

Just use a 311 IR Remote to teach a learning remote and make sure the remote address on the 811 reciever is set to 1. Dish published a Technical Bulletin all about programming the 811 and 921's. It also tells how to program discrete power on and off codes for these recievers. if you give me your email address, i'll send you the bulletin.
