I have a problem please help??

I am using a rf extender & a pronto 7000 the rf extender was working perfect receiving signal & passing through IR to the equipment, I iniatially had to move the rf extender due to very spotty performance I am by no means a beginner, but the strangest thing happened I was about to do the walk through with the client and the remote just stopped working. So I tried resetting the remote, redownloading the program into the 7000, it worked briefly. So aggrivated I went into programming & switched from RF to IR and tested the programming at the rack and again the program in the 7000 works perfect.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Also I need discrete source commands for Sony 5000ES again thank you in advance.

The RF extender indeed can be very fickle. In my experience, the best bet is to locate it away from the equipment , as far as possible. Under/above the seating area is the best. Run a 16 gauge wire for power and a cat5 for IR and make the appropriate splices.

Forget about using the four outputs and go with a xantech amplified connecting block and Xantech emitters. My company has been using the RFX as a plasma proof alternative with success over the past couple of years.

Some of the RF codes need a good solid press from the Pronto. Not a tap like the IR codes.

The codes for the Sony are on this site. Be sure to get the command mode 2 codes (receiver's default) of change the 5000ES to command mode 1.

Hope that helps.

You might also be subject to some new RF interferance in the area. I have had some real problems with the Pronot's and RF. I don't think their system is very stable. In a lab it might be great, but in the real world, it's not sophisticated enough to be dependable. Keep in mind, you are putting the entire control component of the system at the mercy of it's performance consitency. it can be very scary at times. I have already moved to another platform, it's just to risky in my opinion.

I am new to this forum but have been using the Pronto system for about one year so far. I have used the RF extender in corporate buldings where my cell phone would not work and it worked flawlessly. I have never encountered any interference problems. I have always had the RF unit sitting on top of the equipment with external IR's going to the plasma etc. Either you have a lot of intereference in the room you are using the RF Extender or it is faulty.

For all of your responses I have the RF Extender right above the seating in the theatre That is where I moved it after initial problems with interference, It was realy strange was working fine and then all of a sudden just stopped working, kind of sucks I was just about to do the final walk through & get final payment.

Does anyone have a link for the Sony 5000es code set 2 if not have been looking here but can't find them where do I look on this site. Thanks again really appreciate the help.
