dear fellow installers
just wanted to introduce myself and give a short insight into our operation here on the east coast fo australia.
we stared around 5 years ago providing our area with a better choice of hi-fi selling yamaha and denon equipment. we have experienced a real estate boom in the last couple of years which has opened the door for us to expand into the fledgling business of custom projects and installation. we stared with smaller jobs involving certain niles products, channell vision and me sound mrs systems.
today we still use lot of niles products but have expanded into phone/data/video whole house systems and have recently also begun installing some speakercraft and clipsal products.
i have found this forum extremely insightful and have had a few problems solved through the threads on this forum.
look forward to sharing knowledge and experience with all the members on this site in the future

I thought it would be bad if your post dropped off the bottom of the board without at least one reply, so hi, and welcome to the site.

I'm pretty new here myself, but I've already found it very useful, and I think I'm already making a name for myself as annoying and opinionated - I'm a whinging pom.

lol

Hi mate

Also fairly new to the forum. We are based in Sydney and have been operating in custom install for around 9 years. If you need any help, drop me a line on this Forum.

Hi All,

Whilst we are introducing ourselves, far be it from me to be left out. We are a Custom Home theatre installation and consultation company located in Melbournes Eastern suburbs. We specialise in multi room sound distribution and hidden home theatre design and installation. We have been operating for about 3 years and like Judd are located in the largest growth corridor of melbourne. The last 2 years have been really hectic and we find ourselves diversifying more and more every day.

We use mainly Marantz and Jamo gear for our hidden theatres and for those who want to see it as well we use boston or audio pro etc. We have found that Elan provide a complete multi room setup for 6 zones at a very competitive price and have used this and the marantz/xantech combinations on several occasions.

Of late we have finished one of our largest projects to date comprising a custom designed theatre located in a 110sq house (House my a**!!!! Its a friggen mansion) will a full elan S6 using Z100 controllers. The theatre contains amongst other things a Benq PE8700+, A Somfy 96" Motorized screen with a custom hideaway box, Marants SR 7500 7.1 Amplifier and an Audio Sub Focus Sub. The inwalls are all Jamo of course.

We will have pictures posted in the not to distant future at:

www.avdreams.com.au

but for the moment you can see the other jobs we completed late last year.

We are not choosy we will (provided we have time) setup and teach someone how to use a $100 dvd player or completely redesign your theatre to match your budget.

Thats enough of a plug for me in this thread.

Matt

G'day,

Spent a couple years in Melbourne a number of years ago. One of the coolest places I've ever lived in. Must be some pretty scary creepers in the attics down under. I'll bet you guys have a few stories.

Great to have you an board.

dear mr mod
sorry i havent replied until now but i have only just checked this thread again.
im located up on the mid north coast of nsw in forster, part of the great lakes area.
until now our main hardware of choice has been denon and yamaha and our custom products are almost always niles. early on we did a few mrs installs as me sound was located only 20 minutes away. we then moved onto(natuarally)to the hal system and we have quite a few of these around town.just about to do a musicast system and i am still mid way through my first speakercraft product in the eazy 6. the customer started with 1 eazy6, 6 mkp1.1 keypads with the ezc1.0 and a bb1235(wanted the 60 but it is not imported to our country) we are just about to add another bb1235(bridged on the last 4 channels to supply the os6 outdoors with a bit more grunt) with another preamp and another ezc1.0 with accompanying mkp1.1 keypads. everybody told me to get him to buy the mzc66-but on consultation with him he couldnt stress enough how much he is not interested in video. i found the system extremely flexible and thouroughly challenging. our pdp of choice is fujitsu( havent seen a better overall panel yet) and really liking the samsung lcd's.
does any one of a forum were we could share pics also(does this site alow pics) would love to share some install stories and pics with other installers from our fair land
