Alan, it so happens that I never read that thread, but I just scanned it and found this: "...using a transformer (Jenson), using the ground breaker (xantach)...", which shows that I'm not the only one who, at least sub-conciously, differentiates between the two terms.

We do agree that the term "isolation transformer" applies to both power-level and signal-level devices; I'm the one who immediately pictured a power unit. Absolutely no apology necessary.
