Have had issue with a couple of sets and the 'standard' discrete ir command for on. Thought I would go with rs232, have the codes but just get an ERR message back when I try them in hyperterminal.

After doing a little searching it appears I made need to turn the RS232 on in an integrator menu? Found one menu where I can confirm the baud rate but still get the error. Have calls in to Pioneer guys, thought maybe someone here would be able to get back to me though.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

Can't specifically answer your question, other than to say I've *never* had a problem with the discrete IR command set on *any* Pioneer TV - since the generation with the funny carrier frequency, and there is some trick to turning on the 232, but I'm not the one who does it, so I can't tell you how...

If I don't see someone chime in with the answer, I'll ask the guy at work for you and post the secret handshake info...

We use the Elite line all the time and the discretes have worked flawlessly for me. I can't help you very much with your RS-232 issue though. What kind of remote were you using that you had issues with the discretes??
