I would double check that your eye is in the right place, also could try another emitter, Maybe the Tivo IR port is going bad?

Your emitter is most likely mounted in the wrong place, The dumbasses at Motorola decided to print the word "remote" on the right hand side of the window where the remote confirmation light is. Make sure your emitter is on the LEFT side of the window where the IR pickup is.

Also, slow down the chosen code to "medium." Not sure at the moment , but I think the Moto box is 100600 medium. If you set it to the fast version it will often miss the 3rd digit and sometimes the 2nd. If you don't know what I am talking about re-run the TiVo setup.

We use Motorola cable boxes all the time (Cox), and yes, the IR is on the left side - despite the confusing labelling. Use a flashlight to confirm it.
In terms of a Tivo install, do Charter offer the DVR box yet? Then maybe you could do what I do, and just circumnavigate the Tivo thing altogether. lol

it's a motorola box.... it needs pauses between number commands or it will lose or forget numbers.

We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours. |

I agree w/fisher. If the DVR cable box is available there is a right way and a wrong way to enjoy TIVO. If it is available you're out of the loop once it's set up in the system. When the drive blows in a year or so it's their troubleshoot and a quick swap at that.
