My satellite distributor has recently dropped Hughes and picked up RCA for satellite receivers. I am a little afraid of the RCA becuase of remote issues.
What do you guys know about it?
Is the remote compatible with most standard infrared repeater systems, such as the Xantech 490-00 or 480-00?
Are there problems with some remotes being able to learn the commnad? I have heard through the grapevine that their are.
Will the remote included with the RCA unit program for a 20" Sharp Aquos TV?
I would appreciate your help, guys.
Thanks

Stu, I recently placed a couple of D10s and didn't find any issues. I did leave them on all the time, so didn't explore discrete on and off. (The older RCAs had this.)
I integrated one into a Sonance K2 keypad system and had no issues at all. The other questions you asked will have to be addressed by someone else.

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |

It will work fine with the 20" Sharp and the IR system. We just installed one with a Xantech 78944 and 48000. The remote is very easy to program. We no problems.

Do the new RCA's use the old codes ? That would be great if it did.

Too bad they don't accept advanced codes like other UEI remotes. :(
