Any suggestions on good (quality-oriented client) 50" LCD's? Preferably black, with tuner.

The biggest LCD panel I know of is the Sharp Aquos 45" panel. It runs around 8 grand.
If you mean a rear projection LCD, there are many, including Panasonic, Toshiba, etc. You should also look at the Samsung rearpro DLP's. I much prefer the DLP picture to the LCD rear pro's. Unfortunately, most are silver in color.

JVC has a black D-ILA set. Not sure about the long term reliability of them. Have never used them. Picture seems to look prettty good though.

The JVCs are great and they come in black as well. They are an LCOS derivative DILA.

If you can wait until September, LG will have an all black 55" LCD model # 55LP1D

The JVC is available with the built in tuner in all black. I have seen it in a side by side comparison with the Samsung using the exact same feed and the JVC offered a substantially nicer picture in my opinion. Just don't expect a great deal of support from the manufacturer.
