what type of cosmetic treatment do you hide the few inches of exposed wire when mounting surface mounted speakers?

I usually use shrink tubing matched as close to the painted surface color as possible, of coarse I normally bring my wire out throught the bracket to minimize exposed wire.

Used Trident gum is the easiest to paint! :)
Jall, I would used a light or a dark colored heat shrink depending on the background and speaker color.

If you or the client has left over paint that matches, why not just paint it? As a home owner, I try keep some paint for touch ups.

We use jamo speakers and all of the wire goes through the bracket. On white speakers the wire is not noticible. On black speakers we just cover the wire in black electrical tape. We also use the small zip ties to tie the wire to the bracket. In several instances the home owner or GC has painted the bracket and the wire. Sometimes we even put the bracket up before the wall is painted.

Because I needed to have some exposed wires, I used techflex with appropriately colored heatshrink at the ends. Looks clean and neat and protects the wire.
