I sold Canton at my last job and the entry level gear is soooo easy to move.. IMHO they do the best budget gear. However as you move up the range most people moved towards the more "common" brands, such as B&W. Overall, pretty good.

I, too sold them at my old job (pre-'97) and I loved them... The guys at my present place of employment HATE them... I've given up trying to convince them...;)

I like them personally. The entry level stuff, especially the Movie10 kit is actually pretty decent sounding for a sub sat kit. And the higher end stuff is mind blowing in a proper setup. The big Karats are a very underrated speaker.

We too sell a ton of the Move XXX kits. Very good for the price. Moving up the chain, we have sold the LE series for multi-channel. Again very good for the price.
The Ergo and Karat are really great speakers. Ergo, warmer sound, very british, very nice in 2 channel, haven't tried in theater. Karat are well regarded. I personally find them a little bright, but have sold several to customers that love them.
A really good line.

I'm not a pro, but the pros who did my theater suggested the Ergo RC-A's for my theater. They are fantastic! I'd never heard of them, it took about five minutes of listening to get me hooked. They sound great for music and do a killer job for the theater. The THX promo makes everyone who comes over giggle.
Sorry for the intrusion, but I love these speakers.

Sailworkless,
Don't consider it an intrusion at all... we love to hear from people who like what we do or sell... guys who feel we did them a good service by recommending a brand they hadn't heard of yet. Glad you like your speakers.
I personally don't sell them due to commitments with two lines but I do like what I've heard. My brother in law has a twelve year old pair that are still doing really well.

They also have great customer service, I had a pair of HC100's (from the late 70's) that from time to time needeed new drivers and the good folks at Canton always were there for me. Recently they have re-tooled and the drivers are no longer available but I cannot complain about a company that kept me going for almost 25 years. I now install them regularly, use the PlusXL and XXL allot and love the Karat series!

No Norm, you didn't miss anything. They indeed are German speakers. Ijust meant the sound reminded me of a "british" type sound. A warmer, full sound to me.

They are the largest selling speaker in Germany, over the likes of Bose and the Harman twins (JBL / Infinity).
Also, they are custom install friendly in that all drivers and any ports are on the front on all bookshelf and LCR models.
One of their engineers said "most companies build as well as they have to for each price point, we build them as good as is possible at each price point"
