I am not sure what you mean? Are you calling
me a trunk slammer?? Dem's fightin words where
I come from! My installs were featured in Electronic
House; my company was on the cover of CE-Pro,
and USA Today. I advocated "true" structured
wire, pioneered the idea of meeting with every
customer during the design process and had a 98%
closure rate in upgrades. I am one of the strongest
advocates for this industry, working with the
CEA, HTI+ and BICSI. I live and breathe this
industry everyday; it is my life and has been
for over 15 years! Do not assume that just because
I work for a manufacturer today, that I am out
of touch.
Jeez Avi,
You must have a very large hat size...
My favorite line is "I... pioneered the idea of meeting with every customer during the design process and had a 98% closure rate in upgrades."
You were the one that pioneered the idea of meeting with customers??
Hmmmm.....
Can I claim that I was the one that pioneered the idea of aiming projectors TOWARD the screen?? or in-wall speakers OUT OF the wall cavity?? Why would anyone else have done it any other way??
Were the people in your company doing it some other way before you??
Were they passing notes like in Jr. High??
"If you think Susie likes Jimmy, check this box..."
"If you want a TV and ceiling speakers in the Master Bath, check this box..."
"Pass back to Jimmy before the insulators start"
I can DEFINITELY say that I haven't been to over 5,000 installs.
That would be over 2.4 installs a day every weekday of each of the 8 years you were an integrator, no vacations or holidays off.
We don't get too much integrated on the first day of a single job, much less wrapping up 2.4 jobs EVERY day.
Obviously you are counting sat installs and/or builder work phone and cable runs (ie: busy work) as "installs", or you are VERY efficient.
