Help:
Years ago there was a company called Custom Woodwork & Design (CWD). They made modular furniture for components & televisions. Does anyone out there know if this company is still in business? They made oak modules that could be arranged in different configurations for audio and video.
Thanks

CWD is gone, gone, gone. I have some 21 pcs. of walnut stuff that I love and my wife hates; it lives in the basement. They were local to me, so I knew some of the people and the history of the company.

I also had some CWD furniture. Recently moved, and the movers decided to totally destroy it! (By the way... after my last two moves with North American, I'll never use them ever again! Dealing with them regarding a loss is a pain in the @ss! But this is another subject.)
After looking, I decided on some stuff from Salamander. Similar in some ways to CWD, but a slightly more modern look. If you're looking for something similar to CWD, this may fit your needs.

CWD... I was browsing though some old High Fidelity magazines from the late 80s and found an ad for what had to have been one of the first custom install cabinets that they offered.
It was a motorized TV lift in a cabinet, in a consumer stereo mag, in 1988!!

Thanks folks:
I found the Salamander web site and it looks similar to CWD. As luck would have it, my dealer carries that line! Now I'll have to check out Laurier also. It seems like it could work too
