I was wondering if anyone had experienced any RF control system problems in this area. Specifically West Chester/White Plains.

We currently have a project in this area, and we are experiencing what we think is an RF problem with a control system.

Whether you had good results or bad using RF in this area, I would be interested to know. And I am curious as to what brand of control system was/is used that gave you the results - good or bad.

I'm just trying to determine if RF is going to be a problem in this area, or if it may be an installation related issue.

Thanks for your input in advance,

JJP

Yes John we had the same problem in the Glendale Radar/RF Corridor , (it's a channel through the mountains that they use for Comms.) We couldn't resolve it 100% to date it has stopped responding 3 times .
you might want to get a rf meter or contact the F.C.C. ?

John,
If your are talking about the Lexicon remote. The 700 T's have horrible RF range. I did a penthouse in Manhattan a few months back and I couldn't get 25 feet of range. I tried anntenuators, RF amps, different height's & location. Nothing help. All I keep hearing from the client my $20 cordless phone and get 100 feet of range. I ended up installing 3 TCM-3's in her living room (30x50) one was under her sofa.
Did you check your power supply to the TCM-3? I had a problem when after a few hour's the system lost range. The power supply was drooping from 9 to 7 volts I replaced it with a good 9 volt regulated 500ma power supply and that took care it.

Thanks for the tips Zinon. I'll have to check the voltage on the power supply, and the other items you mentioned.

I'll let you know how it works out. PRAY! LOL

my nephew told me to see it in the theaters... says it's as cool as Scooby Doo was...
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

I have done a number of installations in the Scarsdale area with RF light switches and touchpanels. What kind of problems are you having?
