Has anyone had any trouble trying to learn a Universal Remote either an MX-500 or MX-600 to the new HD Tivo box for Direct TV. I have tried time and time again and still have had no good luck. I have tried 2 different remotes to clone the remote and it does not want to work normally. The Univeral Remote does not work all the time but "when and if" if feels like it, it does actually change the channels. I have even tried to move the equipment so it shoots the IR directly into the Tivo unit. Does anyone have any ideas what else I can try?
Thanks

I had a lot of problems with the 800 and the HDTivo. I found part of the problem to be my positioning of the emitter from the 250 base unit and actually a bad remote.(after a lot of trouble shooting) Are you using the rf base station or another type of ir receiver? Have you changed emitters, are they all the same type? You can try learning the remotes from diferent distances, also try a piece of white paper inbetween. Do you have access to an mx700? You can try the ir database, then try and program the 500 or 600 with that one. That has helped me in the past. Good Luck, Mike

Good Luck learning that remote, The only way i found to get the ir is to us the TIVO Series 2 codes in the database . Give that a shot i don.t know if the mx600 has those codes preloaded or not.
