I read it FP. I was just talking in general about TV's with DVI/HDMI that didn't have a RGB input.

I like the JVC HD-ILA, Samsung DLP, LG DLP (Just saw and was amazed), Sony LCD, Samsung plasma, or LG Plasma. I have had zero problems with samsung TV's with discrete codes. I obtained the discrete codes directly fromt ehir tech support. If anyone needs them let me know.

As for the burn in issue...we have several pioneer's and panasonics that have been in the field for over 5 years with no burn in. The TV, DVD, cable, SAT all need to be setup properly in order to prevent burn in.

Well, my first Plasma is a SONY 42" XBR. I'm just installing my second Plasma. This time I'm connecting it to a HP Digital Media Center PC, Onkyo 602, and a 50" NEC Plasma. The first thing I leaned looking/researching is not all TV/Monitors do PC very well. I would recommend buying a commercial monitor (like the NEC 50" I purchased). Although they are the same as the consumer versions they do PC much better. I was told by a number of custom places to not try a Pioneer for such a setup. I can tell you my Sony does a POOR job connected to the PC.

As far as RPTV's go, gotta give the nod to JVC's D'ILA with Toshiba's DLP running a close second, but if it were my $5K I'd go for a Pioneer Elite Plasma

Y'all think the Pioneer Elite is the way to go, even with PC use being at least 50 percent of the usage? What size Pioneer could I get for 5K?

The 920 is going for around 6500, but you can find it for less... [43"]

PS I was speaking for myself mostly, I love that set, but I don't use it for PC, so take that recommendation with a grain of salt...

Yeah, that is a little out of my price range anyways. I need a 60"+ for my room, and I'm not going to spend 10k on a tv. I think I'll have to go RP DLP, but maybe wait on the new generation coming out with 1080p. They are going to have a 70" model for around 5k out in around June 2005.

Mark

whoops, I misquoted. The 70" Samsung is going to be around 6300.00 estimated.

Well guys I finally pulled the trigger, and got the 55" Toshiba plasma. It is incredible so far. I have the screen saver set up to come on after 3 minutes of inactivity, and it flashes through family pictures every 6 seconds using transitions between pictures. What do you guys think? Am I safe with this? Also, am I safe to watch an hour or so show in 4:3 mode with the vertical bars without burn in? I don't want to mess up this set.

Thanks,
Mark
