Can i have some opinions on some DSS HDTV receivers. Which receivers will work well with a MX850 remote. Also any thoughts on models with and without Tivo. Without tivo i was thinking a RCA receiver. But with tivo i have no idea which will work well with my remote and other components. Which are a Pionner plasma and a yamaha A/V receiver and other components to be controlled with a MX850 remote via RF to an Ir blaster. Thanks again evryone.

You won't have a probelm with your remote and any of the boxes. There is only on HDTV Tivo. The RCA is a nice box. The samsung has discrete on and offs but can have issues though the latest firmware supposedly fixes many of them.

Scott.. THis is the second reference you've made to the samsung having Discretes.... Could you please share them? No one else has been able to fine discrete codes for those boxes....

Scott knows them but considers them a secret. But at least we can use the Samsung and know that it has discretes even if we don't have access to them. Seriosuly, I'm also under the impression that the Samsungs do not have discretes and have never seen any claim until now that they do. I'd also like to know about them if they exist.

Interestingly enough, the buttoned labeled "standby" on the front panel is actually a power toggle.

Yeah all you have to do is a search in this very forum and you can find all the info that was posted here. If I was AVDUDE I would do the search and tell you how fast it took but I'm to lazy.
