Good luck..repeat after me...I HATE DSS.

The closest current models I can think of are the Tivo, which are always on as long as power is applied. Dish used to have them - perhaps they still do. RCA used to have them on all models - I believe they are one of the the manufacturers for DirecTV now but I don't know if any of them have discretes now.

I'll be interested to hear input from others. My opinion is that now that DirecTV is the only brand, it'll likely be a cold day in hell before we see discretes again unless we get lucky. Discretes - "what are those"? I hope someone is about to tell me I'm wrong.

None that I know of.

I just turn them on and leave them on. I do not put power codes for satellite receivers or cable boxes on the remotes. Makes for a much more "client proof" system.
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

Are you sure about the Samsung? I need to update a Pronto with the Samsung for a guy and tried power discretes with an MX-800 and the IR database codes. No glory there. Looks to be a single toggle code in both buttons.

2528: I was being lazy and had the URC and it's software in front of the Sammy at the time so I tried MX-Editor's internal database codes.

These look promising:
