I have a 12 year old crestron adagio system.
It has AES, AAS-2, touch screens, APADs and AAE.
I can import media by using Music CDs.
In the past I was able to access the AAS fileshare with default username/password
adagio
crestron

I was able to add music from my PC to AAS.

I had not tried this feature for a while but now it is not working.
I am on windows 11.
I had to enable SMB client.
when I try to access AAS using IP address it prompts me for user name and password.
adagio and crestron do not work.
I do have Mac PC's as well.
I am hoping that someone has a suggestion for me.

error message says user name or password is incorrect.

Even accessing the web browser interface based on flash was a challenge but I was able to install flash browser and it can view the web interface of Crestron Adagio.
In settings Media Export is enabled

On my PC I can even view library in AAS. it shows folders like "All Albums", "Artists" etc.

This system has worked very well. I am selling my home and trying to make sure the new buyer also enjoys it.

Thanks

It turns out that Crestron AAS fileshare was working fine. It was not compatible with windows 11 PC. I have a Synology NAS which is linux under the covers.
I was able to mound //AAS_IS/import as a share on NAS.
I dropped a bunch of music on this file share.
AAS picked it up and I was able to play it.

The issue with Windows 11 is you likely need to manually add the SMBv1 support feature, as it is not installed by default (for security reasons that aren’t really important in a house). There may also be some security fiddling necessary to get it working fully.

Windows only supports SMBv2 and v3 by default.

Is the SMBv1 selection permanent in W11? I think that I read about a detail claiming that SMBv1 will be disabled after a while.

Something about if you don’t use it for 15 days it automatically uninstalls itself. But if you re-enable it, then it will not be automatically uninstalled again.

I had enabled SMBv1.
I checked and it seems to be enabled for now.

Get-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName SMB1Protocol

FeatureName : SMB1Protocol
DisplayName : SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support
Description : Support for the SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing protocol, and the Computer Browser protocol.
RestartRequired : Possible
State : Enabled
CustomProperties :
ServerComponent\Description : Support for the SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing protocol, and the Computer Browser protocol.
ServerComponent\DisplayName : SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support
ServerComponent\Id : 487
ServerComponent\Type : Feature
ServerComponent\UniqueName : FS-SMB1
ServerComponent\Deploys\Update\Name : SMB1Protocol

I am sure another security service is blocking me.
I can see the music library but it may be using another protocol.
