I have a customer who is trying to use old projector. The model is iVision 30SX+. The manufacturer is Digital Projection. The issue is that the projector doesn't respond to IR commands and there's no original remote. They've had an iVision model before, an iVision HD and I had set that up a long time ago working with a Pronto 990 without any issue. The IR codes were learned from the original remote.
Swapping to the 30SX+ though hasn't been straightforward. This 2006 vintage projector does not have its original remote, and it doesn't respond to commands from the HD pj remote.
I've sussed out that the menu setting has three options for control. These are LAN, RS232 and something they refer to as RIMI (internal), which I take to be a an IR remote. The word from the manual is that the pj will only respond to the selected option, so I made sure that the menu was set to RIMI. Then I've gone on to try different IR code sets from the Pronto Professional database via a 9600. No joy there on any of those.
I found some IR Hex codes in the files section here and tried those too, but again nothing.
Along with the SBCRU990 I have an RFX6500 installed for him which worked the older iVision projector via an IR emitter without issue. I've sanity checked to make sure any new codes are making it through the RF system (camera phone - IR light pick up) and they are. I've also used IR scrutiniser to make sure the codes downloaded from here are correctly formed. They appear to be. They're NEC1 protocol. Still no joy. V frustrating.
Documentation on these old iVision models is scarce but I managed to find the basic manual.
Two possible conclusions: 1) I still haven't found the correct IR codes for this model
2) the IR receiver function is somehow disabled or broken
I have tried with the IR emitter on the front IR receiver as well as the back, and tried with direct IR from a 9600.
What else am I missing here that could prevent the projector responding?
My last option is to try the control jack ion the rear of the machine, but with a lack of documentation on the machine I'm not sure how it's wired (TS / TRS / TRRS) and whether it'll even recognise the IR from the jacks on the RFX6500.
Has anyone any experience with these older machines or can point directly to anything more comprehensive than the manuals at Projector Central and [Link: manualslib.com] ?

Yep, that's what I'm going to have to do when I'm next on site, I guess.
Thanks
