All,

We are trying to determine if we should like Heos more. We have noticed issues with latency on multiple Heos jobs when trying to sync audio in multiple rooms using a Heos-enabled receiver along with Heos pre-amps and/or Heos portables.

A few of these systems had turntables so I don't know yet if this was a phono-specific issue or if it's a Heos thing?

Anyon have more experience that can comment on this? We've done a ton of Sonos but have limited Heos systems like the above so we wanted to get some more insight before selling more tumors.

Thanks

Are you using the piece that is connected to the phono as the main one and adding the others to the group? Adding the one with the phono to a different device will cause problems.

I believe that is how we had everything hooked up on 2 of the phono systems.

Turntable into Phono input on Marantz receiver
Heos pre-amp hooked up to 12 channel amp
Heos portables in 1-2 other rooms

1 - Get turntable playing in Z1
2 - Attempt to group turntable input into Heos to play pre-amp and portables
3 - Major delay between Z1 and Z2 (step 2 above)

I'd have to check with our installers to see if the same issue was happening with other sources but I know that it was with turntables.

Thanks!

Older receiver? Did you try using Party Mode in Z1?

If you are using a 2 zone denon receiver you need to use All Zone Stereo to sync the audio between the two zones.

Our problem is a little different. We aren't trying to get Z1 and Z2 through a single receiver synced. We are trying to sync multiple Heos components and having the issue with Z1 (on the receiver) being out of sync with other Heos components.

Ex: Go to Phono on Marantz AVR, try to sync that source with other separate Heos components to get the Phono input playing on the other Heos units.

We'll be bringing one of the newer Marantz receivers into our office to do some more testing.

Make sure the receiver is in direct mode. No DSP or enhancement.
