FWIW...

I set up a new Denon AVR-S570BT today, kind of a patchwork takeover deal, thus the low price. But, I could not get a basic RF Pro Control R system to control it. (We were replacing an old Sony early 4k AVR lacking some HDCP skills.) The standard Denon "AVR Series Main Zone All Models" codes did Nothing. I have used that same set Dozens of times over the years.

Bottom line, I had to learn the Denon codes into the PC software to use them. Then it was all good. The remote is the RC-1254. The receiver is bluetooth only, no network or wifi, so not even a chance at firmware. (Maybe USB down the road)

At least they (Marantz) answered your question quickly-

Do you have another universal remote? Also, is it possible that the codes you were using with the RTi aren't for the Main Zone?

Well, not exactly, it was Pro Control support that re-walked me through the face-to-face Harmony-like learning from the Denon remote. It has been a long time since I had to do that.

I don't usually carry another remote on the van. I just pulled up the file again, it is the main zone denon that was selected.

Lond story longer, for this particular system, I reprogrammed the Pro Control a few weeks back that someone else had provided (with a Sony receiver). He was using his LG OLED for streaming, but was having minor issues (transport keys etc). I offered a Roku and a reprogram, and that's how we ended up here. With the Roku and the olderish Sony, he got an occasional HDCP error, so we went to the new Denon.

Yeah, I'm just not sure. I've never had a problem like that with Denon stuff. I would hate to be the guy crying wolf.

But, that receiver did have a new on-screen interface, menu, and setup so ya never know... It went from the old one that appeared to be written in Basic to this new style possibly written in Visual Basic lol.

They need to bring back the ability to use a GUI in a browser- Yamaha still has it but Denon took their ball and went home, apparently.

I don't know who had that first and I haven't sold anyone else's AVRs, so I don't know if Pioneer/Oinker, etc have it but I have to think there's a way to provide it.
