Anyone doing remotely controlled HVAC?
I have a client who wants to control his hydronic heat via telephone. No A/C. The house was wired for standard thermostats. 2 wire I think. I have a phone line in the boiler room.
I did a search and found a few products, but don't know if there is a "go to" brand/product that's more solid than another.
Thanks in advance!

Not via the phone, but we have several projects with Crestron HVAC and X-Panel over internet control.
Flawless to date.

And there are a number of telephone entry systems. HAI is a good one as was mentioned. Lutron OEMs their telephone interface. Crestron has the CNXTA card. This is not an inexpensive option. By the time you are done materials should be around 1000, perhaps 1500 plus labor and programming.

I put one of these in a Northern Michigan home. 3 zone Boiler heat system. The answering machine in the house turned out to be a PIA, but the controller wasn't a problem. Nice and easy Voice prompt menu. Don't forget to add a UPS and surge protect the Phone and AC Wall wart. [Link: temperatureguard.com]

I think I'll try out the Temperature Gaurd. Seems pretty self explanatory. The answering machine in the house turned out to be a PIA, but the controller wasn't a problem. PIA ??
