I am going to be pre-wiring a condo for a Xantech MRC44 and keypads as well as several LCD Televisions. What type of boxes are you using to put the large cable from the LCD's and the Media decks, or are you using boxes. Also what are your recommendations on pre-wiring the keypads? Should we pull them through the drywall? The pre-construction boxes we have used in the past have been plastic. This will not work in the application. Any ideas welcome.

Caddy makes a new work 1 gang and 2 gang ring. It is design w/ a flange on it to screw to metal stud. Can't recall the product #. Caddy also make a strap for securing wires run up the the studs. Electrical supply house will have these. Don't forget to pick up stud insulators for runs through the studs.

The nice thing about metal studs is that you only need a unibit, a few bags of nylon snap-in grommets, and a pair of pliers to straighten the studs so your "boxes" don't end up all cockeyed.
Don't buy the grommets that fit into the pre-punched holes! The framers seem to make sure that none of the holes line up and you'll burn another 200' of wire zig-zaging.

The MRC Keypads will not fit in a 2 gang. Your best bet is to leave them behind the drywall and take notes and digital pics. especially with the non-english speaking drywall guys around here. i use Carlon double and single gang boxes for normal devices.
