Hey All,

I'm doing and update for a client that had an old Niles ICS system with the large IntelliControl keypads. We are going to a basic dumb amp, existing sonos, and new volume controls in each zone.

Problem is the keypad is Larger than a 2-gang retrofit ring by about an inch all the way around. Does anyone know of a trim ring they have used to take this large opening down to the basic 1 or 2 gang size?

Thanks
Tom

Somewhere, there is some retired engineer laughing his ass off at all the people that have had to come up with some solution when removing the system he designed.  Engineers are evil to the core

Most definitely.

What's even more dumb is the original installer seems to have just blindly ball-parked the size of the opening needed. It could have worked with 2-gang height (and 2.5 wide, but manageable), but oh no, don't look for a template... It upsets me that I overlooked this issue, but I was more concerned about digging out / finding the speaker wire. The wire was actually correctly ran with the cat5 to the wall, then to the speakers... not always that way with a-bus.
