Hey guys, I have been coming here for awhile and really like reading everything you all have to say. But I have a question, it seems that everybody here uses zantech ir components, does anybody use speakercraft or am i using this stuff in error. Is there any reason I shouldn't be using it. thanks

We use both and find both to be very good products however xantech has a huge product range with a remedy for nearly any situation and as such we tend to use more xantech than speakercraft.
As a side note we have run into compatibility issues if we try and combine both products (anyone else struck this or has Mr Murphy got it in for me only) so we tend to use Xantech for more complex jobs and Speakercraft for the simpler ones.

from what I understand, a couple of years back a few of the engineers that worked for Xantech bailed during a shift in the company model and went to work for Speakercraft, at least that is what I heard, from a fairly reliable source. I would have to think it is true, just take a look at some of the Speakercraft products, they just look too similar to be a coincidence. As far as my preference, I use Xantech.
What part of "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." do you not understand?

Don't forget that both Xantech and Speakercraft are owned by the same holding company, along with Elan and a couple others. There is already a sizable overlap in lines and there may be more sharing to come.

SpeakerCraft IR components are Top Notch. THats all we use.... Xantech has a broader line of stuff, which we deal with as well, but I find the IR stuff from speakercrat to be superior.

Yes, Former Xantech Engineers designed the speakercraft IR stuff...

Yes, The still work there...

Yes, the same holding company owns both of them now.

We also only use Speakercraft IR products, they have worked great for us especially in plasma situations. Xantech has a lot more solutions in their product lines, so we use them for a lot of projects.
When good enough is not good enough.
