Not heard good news about ANY ip controlled ATV (although just this morning read that Savants IP control is good).

Yes, ALL apple tv's respond to IR control. On the newer ones (4th gen and above) you have to teach the commands via the settings menu under remote. IR control is flawless. IP, not so much is my undertanding, if it can even be done as there are many control systems that dont offer it, yet.

That said, there is ZERO need for even using an Apple TV anymore with Roku being superior, aside from if the customer has itunes library they purchased or the like.

So, if they've purchased movies from iTunes they HAVE to use an Apple TV? It does make sense though.
I understand they can still access Apple+. Is that true?

Facebook "Control4 Programmers" private group run by Luther at Blackwire is an excellent dealer centric information resource, with several Control4 employees actively participating, and a files area.

Update - I got this sorted it was just an edid issue.

What’s weird is on previous versions of ATVs they would give you resolution options even if you couldn’t support them but now they seem to run some sort of check and only show what’s available, my matrix was giving the wrong edid info hence the issue

Just wait till we have HDMI-10.0 or whatever. This will be symmetric, similar to USB-C and everything prior will be obsolete.

I wish that there was a reasonably priced instrument that would display HDMI and CEC details.
